With the compliance of Government order, instruction has been issued to all Regional Transport Offices in Chennai city (including Regional Transport office, Meenambakkam and Red hills) should be worked in Saturday's for granting of driving license related all works to the office goers and Government servants.

Now, due to large number of driving license applications are pending, it has been decided to allow those Regional Transport offices which have more number of driving license applications pendency, to function in Saturdays.

In our letter dated 30.12.2010 as mentioned in the reference 2nd, that the service has been provided only government servants and office goers. Now, it is decided to extend all categories of public including through driving school.
